From Renton to Butte!

We left Renton, WA bright and early this morning and headed East! And the car is loaded! Here's the backseat with my new cooler or "Shore bag" thanks to my former co-worker. She loaded it up with La Croix, SmartPop, pretzels, chocolate and other goodies.

The drive is going well - we've stopped at every Rest Stop ... once you read "Next Rest Stop in 68 Miles," you have to stop! But we're still making good time. I guess it helps that the speed limit is 80! in Montana. We picked up a lot of gross hitch-hikers πŸ›πŸ˜and gassed up twice.

Lunch was a fantastic grilled caprese sandwich in Coeur d'Alene, ID with house-made chips and salad. The sweet mint iced tea was ... interesting. Very sweet and slightly minty. Refreshing once the sugar taste subsided.

Montana is beautiful - lots of mountains, trees, cows and sheep! I tried to get some pictures from the car window but they don't really do it justice ...

We listened to the  "S*town" podcast and got sucked into the story - we're on episode 5 ... can't wait for what happens tomorrow :)

Stats for the day:

  • States: 3 (Washington, Idaho, Montana)
  • Miles driven: 593
  • Hours in the car: 9
  • Rest Stop breaks: too many to count
